Credit Union Monitoring

Deposit Guarantee Corporation monitors credit union adherence to the standards of sound business practice on a regular basis. Monitoring processes include on-site visits to credit unions, analyzing credit union financial performance through reviews of balance sheet and operating statements, reviewing credit union external audit reports, and obtaining information through various other sources and methods.

If a situation arises where the credit union demonstrates non-compliance with standards of sound business practice, the Corporation has the power to direct the credit union to correct deficiencies in a timely and appropriate manner.
